Saint Urael is one of the archangels in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. He is referred to as the “Light of God” or “Fire of God”. In the role of an angel, Saint Urael served as a messenger, guide and protector of man. He brought a cup of fiery water to the prophet Ezra, containing the wisdom and power of God. He also travels the world with the Blood and Water of Christ, bringing blessings and sanctification to the places He visits. Saint Urael is the Angel of Divine Guidance, Wisdom and the Presence of God and serves to protect and guide those who are devoted to Him.
